Happy Guitar Talent
TweetOne of the more delightful aspects of hosting this blog I started from my own interest in performance art is reviewing videos and pictures of talent from around the world via the Internet. Thanks to Larry, here’s a selection of an incredibly talented guitarist:
I am curious the guitarist is using a different tuning to her guitar than standard (so the open strum sounds more pleasant to the ear). Someone please correct me, but this style of playing reminds me of Hawaiian style slack key guitar, which uses an open tuning. A sample of slack key guitar can be found here on Youtube . I should have been paying a bit more attention when I visited the Musical Instruments Museum in Arizona, but the style in the video sounds very similar to the slack key I used to listen to all the time on my ten trips to Hawaii.
As the Hips For Hire community grows, so do the comments, inquiries, and blog suggestions. Very soon, I’ll be ready to set up guest blogging on a regular basis, because I know so many of you out there not only have great ideas, you’re good writers as well. Maybe you don’t have the energy to start your own blog, but you can get a little practice by being hosted by my blog here. Got some great art and art business ideas to share? Please send your inquiries to info at HipsForHire [dot] com.
